![]() You might consider the following sledgehammer approach which is time-consuming but free:ġ. ![]() We've also received numerous complaints about Skype/Dragon incompatibility issues but cannot verify this problem on our systems. We have tested a lot of Bluetooth microphones but have always recommended against using Plantronics Bluetooth models. The problem could be a disagreement with your Plantronics Bluetooth microphone or Skype. Dragon may only be the catalyst, as opposed the culprit. You are looking at more than 1 investment but blaming Dragon. Performing a Repair of Dragon simply duplicates the original installation (minus various registry settings) so it should suffice. It does not seem to matter what type of audio input is selected, Dragon 14 will still not recognize it. I have tried another Bluetooth headset, that also works properly with the computer, Skype, and system tests, however, regardless of the set-up, the "Turn Dragon's Microphone On" option is greyed out. I have run the repair installation through Windows 7, Control Panel, Programs and Features with no change in the issue. Dragon 14 has been working properly since the original install in January 2016, using the same Bluetooth headset. The computer is a dell M4800, new in January 2016. My question is: How do I get Dragon to recognize the Windows 7, and the sound system that worked perfectly two-weeks ago? It also does not work using the "Dragon Bar" tool bar. Or any other microphone, Bluetooth headset or otherwise. It is not possible to turn on the Bluetooth headset microphone through the Dragon 14 software. When Dragon 14 is running, in the system tray, the dragon icon, right-click menu, the option to "Turn Dragon's Microphone On" option is greyed out. The problem I am having, is that Dragon does not seem to be recognizing that there is any type of microphone, Bluetooth headset, or otherwise connected. The Bluetooth headset also works properly with Skype, when I am using Skype - Please note that Skype is disabled when using Dragon to avoid any conflicts. The Bluetooth headset internal speaker plays the test music properly, and I can hear the system sounds properly through the Bluetooth headset internal speaker. The Bluetooth headset internal microphone test shows proper response. I have tested the Bluetooth headset with the Windows 7, using the built-in "Control Panel, Sound, Playback" dialog, and the Bluetooth headset is communicating properly with Windows. The Bluetooth headset I have, is the same one that I have been using very successfully with Dragon 14 for several months. The Dragon 14 software is not working with Windows 7. ![]() The problem I am having seems to be with the Dragon 14 software. Our preference is the Sennheiser MB Pro1/2Ĭhange "No" to "Know" w/ KnowBrainer 2020 If you have to replace your microphone, you might as well do it right. ![]() If the previous recommendations fall short of the mark and your Plantronics microphone is less than a year old, you might consider contacting Plantronics 800 544-4660 for a warranty replacement. If you see 2 choices, when running the Microphone Check, rebooting Windows might be the best solution. Sometimes Dragon will lose track of the USB connection and then reestablish it by changing its name to #2. Have you tried running the Microphone Check to verify that Dragon can see your USB soundcard (Bluetooth dongle). When you say you can hear the system sounds and test music with it, are you referring to your Bluetooth headset? If you're playing music through external speakers, you are only using the integrated soundcard which isn't being used for Dragon. Plantronics USB and Bluetooth microphones do not meet our minimum requirements but our best guess is that your microphone either is no longer connecting to its Bluetooth dongle or Windows has lost its connection to the Plantronics Bluetooth dongle. Nuance microphone recommendations should be taken with a grain of salt. Keep in mind that Nuance isn't in the microphone business.
